Abstract
This paper summarizes a panorama of the results obtained by bird banding during the last 40 years in Argentina. Maps are included containing details of the migratory routes of some birds like the black –necked swan, the coscoroba swan, the speckled teal, the rosy-billed pochard, some egrets, one neotropical cormorant and the kelp gull.. There are also mentioned the displacements of several Passerine species arriving from the Patagonia and of those that migrate to the north after breeding in the northeastern Argentina, as swallows and grasslands seed-eaters. It is stated the importance that holds Southern Brazil, and particularly the Pantanal of Matto Grosso, for the migratory birds of northeastern Argentina.
