JUAN RASSMUSS (1886-1971): SU CONTRIBUCIÓN A LA GEOLOGÍA ARGENTINA. El Dr. Rassmuss permaneció en Argentina desde 1912 hasta 1926, donde realizó investigaciones de geología regional en las sierras de Aconquija y Candelaria, en la Cuenca de Metán, al sur de Bariloche y otras regiones. Estudió la geología, hidrogeología y morfología de la Sierra de Velasco como consecuencia de una fuerte disminución del caudal del río de La Rioja. Evaluó los hallazgos de carbón del país y estudió zonas con lignitos donde resaltó su geología, estructura y posibilidades del recurso. Estudió las vetas de rafaelita en Neuquen y describió un pozo de exploración petrolera en Tartagal, donde interpretó la estratigrafía y estructura de las Sierras Subandinas. También analizó la geología de la región, estructura y el origen de las termas de Rosario de la Frontera.
Abstract
JUAN RASSMUSS (1886-1971): HIS CONTRIBUTION TO THE ARGENTINIE GEOLOGY.-Dr. Rassmuss stayed in Argentine between 1912 and 1926, where he made several investigations in the field of regional geology like in the areas of Aconquija and Candelaria ranges, Metán basin, south of Bariloche and many others. He studied the geology, hidrogeology and morphology of the Velasco Range as a consequence of a great decrease in the volume of water of La Rioja river. He evaluated the coal discoveries of the country and studied different zones with lignite where he remarks the geology, structure and the possibilities of this resource. He studied the veins of Rafaelita in Neuquen and described an exploration oil drilling in Tartagal, where he interpreted the stratigraphy and structure of Subandinas Ranges. Also he analyzed the geology, structure and genesis of Rosario de la Frontera hot springs.
